With a new year upon us, it is time post my 2024 review and my goal results for the year.
How did I do this past year? Did I hit my goals?
Well, let us get to it!
I will start with the numbers and then my 2024 goal results.
Financial Review of 2024 – Dividends and Portfolio
The numbers don’t lie!
I collected a record $15,183.44 in dividend income for 2024!
That is the most dividends I ever received for any year.
Next, let’s look at my projected annual dividend income (PADI) from start to finish over the past year.
- PADI on January 1, 2024: $14,451
- PADI on January 1, 2025: $15,620
That is an 8.1% increase on PADI since the first day of 2024. That amounts to $1,169 in dividends added over the year.
As for dividend raises and cuts, it was not the best year. This was primarily due to dividend cuts (mainly MPW).
The dividend raises themselves were alright for the year.
- 2024 dividend raises: $393.15
- 2024 dividends cuts: $668.68
Ouch! This was actually similar to last year, albeit slightly better. Nevertheless, I was in the red this year.
When you combined the raises minus the cuts, I was in the red at negative $275.53 in organic growth.
As for my overall portfolio value for 2024:
- I started the year with a portfolio value of $327,246.74
- I ended the year with a portfolio value of $380,810.89
This means my portfolio grew by 16.4% in value in 2024.
Goal Results for 2024
For the year 2024, I set the following goals for projected annual dividend income:
- Bronze Cup: Projected annual dividend income of $15,000
- Silver Cup: Projected annual dividend income of $15,500
- Gold Cup: Projected annual dividend income of $16,000
So, how did I do?
By closing the year with a $15,620 PADI I have achieved the Silver Cup!
I was hoping for the gold, but dividend cuts took there toll. Nevertheless, I am happy with the results.
For the year 2024, I set the following goals for new stock purchases:
- Bronze Medal: Add 3 new stocks to my portfolio!
- Silver Medal: Add 4 new stocks to my portfolio!
- Gold Medal: Add 5 new stocks to my portfolio!
So, how did I do?
I am happy to report that I added 5 new stocks to my portfolio this year. Thus, I have achieved the Gold Medal!
For the year 2024, I set a silver bullion goal to buy 20 ounces of silver.
So, how did I do?
Well, I purchased 20 ounces of silver over the course of the year! Mission accomplished!
Conclusion
Thus, we conclude my 2024 Review and Goal Results!
I am hoping the year 2025 will bring far greater prosperity!
I set new goals for 2025 for projected dividend income and silver bullion.
My ultimate goal is to surpass $17,000 this year which would be my crowning achievement.
I don’t know what the new year has in store, but only time will tell if I will accomplish this.
