Another month down and it is time for my February 2022 Dividend Income. After a small dripping spout caused a larger ordeal, I am happy this month is over. Everything has been fixed and repaired now, so I am hoping for quiet March. I am hoping. On the financial side, things are much brighter. The dividends keep coming. No matter what happens in life my portfolio works in the background generating passive income. That is truly great!
In another sign that maybe my luck this winter is starting to change… I was walking down the street and I found some money on the sidewalk next to a bus stop. At first, I saw a “5” and thought it was five dollars. As it turns out, it was a $50 bill just lying there on the sidewalk. What luck! That was the most money I ever found just walking down the street. I couldn’t believe it at first, but it was all legit.
Other then that piece of luck, we closed the final week of February with an ice storm. Hopefully, the last one. It was pretty neat to see the trees completely covered in a layer of ice. And it was quite a sight to witness that afternoon when it all started to melt in the sun. Here are some pics:
But without further ado, for February 2022, I received $716.56 in dividend income from nine (9) companies.
- T – $240.76
- OHI – $167.50
- PG – $28.70
- O – $46.34
- GIS – $52.02
- ABBV – $46.53
- VZ – $79.36
- GD – $16.66
- NNN – $38.69
February 2022 Dividend Income Total: $716.56
This is my “off” month. An “off” month is when I get paid the lowest amount of dividends from the fewest number of companies. However, even an “off” month can be a good month. This month’s dividend income shows an 5.9% increase from last February 2021. Not exactly the strongest growth, but growth nonetheless. The highlight of the month was the series of dividend increases (and one decrease).
-
-
- UPS increased dividend to $1.52 per share, resulting in a $40.00 increase.
- GILD increased dividend to $0.73 per share, resulting in a $3.60 increase.
- MMM increased dividend to $1.49 per share, resulting in a $1.00 increase.
- ARCC increased dividend to $0.42 per share, resulting in a $38.08 increase.
- GPC increased dividend to $0.895 per share, resulting in a $11.20 increase.
- MPW increased dividend to $0.29 per share, resulting in a $36.00 increase.
- GSK “increased” dividend to $0.6221 per share, resulting in a $47.38 increase.
- PPL decreased dividend to $0.20 per share, resulting in a $107.50 decrease.
All in all, dividend increases for February 2022 totaled: $177.26
Nice! Of course, you when you factor in the decrease from PPL, I end up with a lower net gain of $69.76. Let’s get the worse over first. PPL cut their dividend in half (although we kind of new this was coming due to the company’s repositioning away from the UK). Nevertheless, what I was excited to see was that dividend increases alone completely made up for the dividend cut! The power of dividend increases is amazing!
GSK declared their dividend for the year and always pay out more the first quarter. Therefore, I will receive an increased amount for the first quarter.
The star of the month was ARCC (with UPS a close second). ARCC not only increased their dividend, but also declared a $0.03 special dividend to be paid each quarter for the rest of 2022. Therefore, I will receive an additional $114.24 in dividends for the year (or $28.56 quarterly). Awesome! This alone makes up for the PPL cut.
Thus concludes my February 2022 Dividend Income. Over $700 in dividends and lots of dividend increases. The big cut coming next quarter will be the T cut, but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. As of this post, my portfolio is now set to generate $12,504 in dividend income over the next 12 months!
There is the power of dividend growth investing! I will continue work towards my goals and build my dividend dynasty!
