And so the month of August 2017 is coming to a close. Is it just me or did the past two months of summer go by really fast? Heck, it feels like this entire year has just sped by so quickly. Anyway, I might as well post my monthly dividend earnings as I will not be receiving anymore this month. Coming out of my βoffβ month is certainly pleasing. This month turned out much better. This month I received $707.27 in dividends from 3 companies.
AT&T (T) – $135.24
Sprague Resources (SRLP) – $349.31
Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI) – $222.72
August 2017 Dividend Income Total: $707.27
This monthβs dividend income conveys a 1.7 % increase from last quarter when those same 3 companies paid me $695.17 in dividend income. The dividend income I received this months shows a 3.5 % increase since the beginning of the year from those same 3 companies. I had stopped purchasing stocks for the first 6 months of the year. Thus this growth is just from companies increasing their dividends.
I did not keep track of monthly dividends last year, so I cannot give an accurate year by year comparison. One thing I could say is that it must be higher as those companies have raised their dividends since last year. I recently purchased General Mills (GIS) but I did so two days after the ex-dividend date, so I missed out on their dividend this quarter. I am looking forward to collecting dividends from GIS the next quarter.
So yeah. It was a very good month. The dividend income I received this will be used to buy more quality dividend stocks from great companies as I continue to diversify and expand my portfolio. I will continue to build my dividend dynasty. So how did your month go? Let me know in the comments below!
