And just like that, it is time to post my August 2020 dividend income! For some reason it feels this August went by exceptionally fast. Maybe it is juts me, but my gosh, we are now in September! My savings will reach its maximum by the end of the month which means I will be making new stock purchases either later this month or October. I am still working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely each week and that doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon. But without further ado, for August 2020, I received $618.47 in dividend income from eight (8) companies.
- AT&T (T) – $240.76
- Sprague Resources (SRLP) – $36.71
- Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI) – $167.50
- Procter & Gamble Company (PG) – $19.77
- Realty Income Corp (O) – $43.90
- General Mills (GIS) – $49.98
- AbbVie Inc. (ABBV) – $38.94
- Verizon (VZ) – $20.91
August 2020 Dividend Income Total: $618.47
As stated in my previous post, these mid-quarter months are my new “off” months. On “off” months, I receive the least amount of dividend income from the fewest number of companies. August 2020’s dividend income shows a 7% year over year decrease from last August 2019. That dividend income wasn’t lost, but rather due to re-balances and tweaks to my portfolio, it has just shifted over to quarter starting and ending months. Also, because I added to my position in VZ after the ex-dividend date, I did not receive the full dividend income this time around.
This month I had one dividend increase and thankfully no cuts. ITW increased their dividend to $1.14 per share. Thus, this raised my dividend income from $64.20 to $68.40 for a $4.20 increase from ITW. A small amount, but I will gladly take it. I know there is one dividend cut coming from D, but I am hoping that is the last of them.
And that is it for my August 2020 dividend income. Not a bad month for dividends, but not my best month either. I am looking forward to this September as quarter ending months are my best months for dividend income. In addition, I will be fully reloaded by the end of this month to make new purchases. My portfolio now stands to generate $10,535 in dividend income over the next 12 months. Save, invest, repeat! The snowball keeps getting bigger and bigger.
So, how was your month? Any record breakers? Also, did you make any addition purchases this month? Let me know in the comments below!
