Happy New Year! Time to post my December 2020 dividend income. It has been one heck of a year. I am happy to say I closed the year with a record-breaking month for dividend income. This is the most I ever received in a single month. Also, I conclude my sixth year of active investing by collecting a yearly record of $10,327.89 in dividend income for the year 2020. In many ways this awful year was a financial success. Back in December 2019, I set goals for 2020. I will post the results of those goals and the dividend numbers later this month. Also, my goals for 2021 can be found here. But without further ado, for December 2020, I received $1,334.27 in dividend income from twenty-three (23) companies!
- Pfizer (PFE) – $65.36

December 2020 Dividend Income Total: $1,334.27
That that is a record-breaking month for dividend income and the number of companies that paid me! This month saw a 12.5% year over year increase when compared to December 2019. Glad to see double digit growth on a record month. In addition, I am happy to report that I received my first ever dividend payouts from AFL and WBA! And now it is on to dividend increases:
- EMN increased dividend to $0.69 per share resulting in a $5.16 increase.
- O increased dividend to $0.2345 per share resulting in a $1.13 increase.
- PFE increased dividend to $0.39 per share resulting in a $6.88 increase.
All in all, this month’s dividend increases totaled $13.17 added to my forward income.
The big shock this month was that T did not raise their dividend as they normally do each year. Speaking of AT&T, there was an even bigger shock on Christmas Day, when a suicide bomber blew himself up in his RV apparently targeting an AT&T service building in Nashville. As of this post, there is no known motive for the attack. There is speculation ranging from ideological extremism, to 5G conspiracy theories, to beliefs in lizard people running the world, and heck, I’ll speculate that maybe the shock of no dividend increase from T this year was what set this crazy guy off. But in all seriousness, that could have been a whole lot worse.
Thus, a crazy ending to a crazy year. Good riddance 2020. And that is it for my December 2020 dividend income. In conclusion, it was a pretty good month. Despite the chaos, I ended the year strong with a record amount of dividend income. My portfolio is now set to generate $10,864 in dividend income over the next 12 months.
Looking forward to a new year and new milestones. Firstly, there is the $11k milestone which I should pass sometime in the first quarter of 2021. Secondly, there is the major milestone of $12K which I will strive to surpass this year. Lastly, I realize this will probably be the year my portfolio crosses over $250,000 in value. Although, dividend income takes precedent, crossing a quarter million dollars in value is still awesome!
So, how did you do this month? How did your year go? Break any records? Also, did you make any goals for 2021? Let me know in the comments below!
