February 2019 Dividend Income

And with that February 2019 is in the record books. But that is not all that is in the records. This was also a record-breaking mid-quarter month for me! Other then that it was a financially uneventful month. All of my dividend income came in by the middle of the month. By the time I posted about building an emergency fund, I had already collected the month’s dividends. The remaining two weeks was just kicking back and taking it easy. This month I received $918.64 in dividend income from seven (7) companies.

AT&T (T) – $172.38

Sprague Resources (SRLP) – $383.81

Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI) – $229.68

Procter & Gamble Company (PG) – $17.93

Realty Income Corp (O) – $42.39

General Mills (GIS) – $49.98

AbbVie Inc. (ABBV) – $22.47

February 2019 Dividend Income Total: $918.64

And with that a new mid-quarter record is set. This is my first time receiving over $900 on a mid-quarter month. This month shows a 14.35% year over year increase compared with last February 2018. It is so nice being able to track YOY growth rates. It really does show the progress made.  This is also the first time I received a dividend from ABBV. So, I think I can safely say February was a great month for dividend income. But it gets even better with dividend increases!

First up, ARCC made a surprise dividend increased to $0.40 per share! That raised my forward yearly dividend income from $1,485.12 to $1,523.20 for a $38.08 increase from ARCC. But wait, there is more! ARCC declared a special dividend of $0.08 per share for the year which will be paid at $0.02 per share each quarter! That special dividend adds $76.16 in forward annual dividend income from ARCC. So, if I tally up the total dividend increase plus the special dividend, that means I go a $114.24 increase in forward dividend income from ARCC for 2019! That is fantastic!

The last time I received any special dividend was February 2016 when GSK declared a special dividend that year. Speaking of GSK, I am happy to report that GSK raised their dividend to $0.59 per share. That raised my forward yearly dividend income from $233.18 to $283.20 for a $50.02 increase from GSK. The dividend from GSK is different every quarter. This has been there first dividend raise in a year. I will certainly take it!

Tallying it all up, the total amount of dividend increases from both companies amounted to $88.10 in annual forward dividend income. If I include the special dividend, I am looking at a total of $164.26 in forward dividend income for the year. I can safely save that February was a great month for dividends. My portfolio now stands to generate $9,562.57 in dividend income over the next 12 months. Getting closer to the $10K mark! How did the rest of you do? Any new records?
