Cool! Two days into starting My Dividend Dynasty and I am posting my first purchase in 5 months. I halted stock purchases for a time period due to the need to find a cooperative apartment to purchase and until I had a better understanding of what my expenses would finally be. Yesterday, I made a purchase of General Mills (GIS) as the stock approached its 52-week low. I purchased 57 shares of GIS at $53.45. This purchase was made solely with past accumulated dividends.
It’s funny. When I went food shopping on Sunday buying my favorite cereal and I wasn’t thinking that the next day I would become an actual owner of the company behind that cereal brand. But it was an opportunity that I took. My breakfast tastes even better now. This purchase adds $111.72 in annual dividend income in to my account. My portfolio now stands to generate $7,935.10 in annual dividends over the next 12 months. Slowly but surely, I am closing in on the $8000 mark in yearly dividends.
