Recent Buys – INTC, CSCO, & GD

We begin the new year with my recent buys – Intel (INTC), Cisco (CSCO), & General Dynamics (GD). Also, I am very happy to report that I have crossed the $11K milestone in dividend income. It is interesting that last year at this time I first passed the $10K mark. One year later, I have an added another $1,000 in forward dividend income. Dividend growth investing is real and it works! The snowball continues to grow and grow. Of course, the major milestone I am hoping to cross is the $12K mark which would provide me with $1,000 per month in dividend income. Hard to say right now if that will happen this year or early next year, but it is one of my goals.

This new year starts off with three new stock purchases. First, I bought 14 shares of General Dynamics (GD). As a result of this purchase, I added $61.60 to my forward dividend income. Thus, GD became the 43rd stock in my portfolio. Next, I purchased 46 shares of Cisco Systems (CSCO). With that purchase, I added $66.24 to my forward dividend income. CSCO became the 44th stock in my portfolio. Lastly, I made a purchase of Intel Corp. (INTC). This purchase added $52.80 to my forward yearly dividend income. And with that, INTC becomes the 45th stock in my portfolio.

And that is what I call a good series of stock buys. All in all, these purchases added $180.64 to my forward dividend income. This is the first time I added new stocks to the technology sector within my portfolio. I’ve had IBM since I was 6 years old when my grandfather started an investment account for me and bought shares of IBM. Therefore, I guess you can say IBM is no longer alone anymore in that sector, but still the dividend powerhouse.

And that concludes my recent buys – Intel (INTC), Cisco (CSCO), & General Dynamics (GD). I ended last year strong and I am starting this year strong. I also realize that all three companies are getting ready for dividend increases over the next quarter. That is awesome! My portfolio is now set to generate $11,045 in dividend income over the next 12 months. I am aiming for the big $12K mark!
